Rick Ball
Rick retired as a Police Captain in 2005 with 30 years of service. He has a degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed postgraduate work at the University of Louisville and the University of Virginia. While serving in the capacity of K-9 handler and trainer in law enforcement, Rick was a qualified expert in State and Federal court regarding Police K-9 operations and training. He has served as a certified judge of police service dogs in patrol, narcotics and explosives detection. Rick is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy. He has trained well over a hundred K-9's for service with Municipal, County, State, Federal and Military organizations.
Eldon Presnell
Eldon began his law enforcement career in March 1979. He worked as a patrol officer, narcotics detective and was the Canine Unit Sergeant from April 1987 until he retired in August 2007. As the Canine Unit Supervisor, he was responsible for the training of handlers and their canines. He also handled patrol/narcotics canines and explosives detection canines himself during his 20 year canine career. He is a nationally Certified Level III Trainer and a Nationally Certified Judge of patrol dogs and detection canines. Eldon and Rick Ball were owners of Triad Canine Training, Inc. in Summerfield, North Carolina from 1987 until 1994. During that time they trained more than 400 police canine teams across the country.
Jay Edwards
Jay is a retired Police Officer who served 28 years in Greensboro, North Carolina. His assignments at the department included Patrol Officer, Tactical Officer, Vice Narcotics Detective, Special Response Team Member, K9 Officer, Firearms Instructor, Hazardous Devices Team Member, Field Squad Supervisor and Tactical Squad Supervisor. He was a K-9 Handler for the department for 6 years working a dual purpose K-9 Patrol/Explosives. He was promoted to Sergeant from the K-9 Unit, but continued to work his K-9 as a single purpose Explosive K-9 for the Hazardous Devices Team for four additional years. Jay was a certified Bomb Technician trained at the Hazardous Devices School in Huntsville Alabama. He has a love for K-9 training and trains exclusively for Presnell Edwards Canine Training. Jay is a regionally certified judge of Police Canines and judges actively several times each year.
Teresa Turner
Teresa received a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986. She then went on to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1991 from UNC-CH and completed a residency in Oncology Pharmacy Practice at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver Colorado in 1992. She currently works as an Oncology Clinical Pharmacist at Moses Cone Regional Cancer Center in Greensboro, NC. Teresa is interested in medical applications for canines in oncology, diabetes, and seizure disorders, as well as, research in canine cancer detection. Her particular aptitude and patience for puppies and puppy training has been an integral part of developing Green Collar K9's puppy training and socialization program.
Pat Ransone
Pat trained as a veterinary technician for large and small animals. She has trained for Companion Dog and Canine Good Citizen obedience titles and competed in the breed ring. Pat has extensive experience breeding and raising dogs and has been instrumental in the development of Green Collar K9's breeding program and puppy development program. Pat worked for Triad Canine Training for 6 years as a kennel manager and a dog trainer. She coordinates health maintenance and medical treatment for all Green Collar K9's with our staff DVM.
